Steve Cybart

I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Ellicott Town Council. As a retired Army Captain and former Ellicott police officer, I have dedicated my life to the service of our Country and our community. I am passionate about leveraging my experience and commitment to bring effective change to our beautiful town.

During my service in the U.S. Army, I led with integrity, fostering team spirit, and commitment to excellence. The experience shaped my leadership style, which emphasizes strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making, while always prioritizing the well-being of those I lead. I pledge to bring the same ethos to the Town Council, ensuring the interests of our community are at the forefront of every decision.

Upon returning home, I took my experience from the Army and applied it to the Ellicott Police Department. My tenure allowed me to understand our town's unique challenges and opportunities better. I've seen firsthand the impact that thoughtful, community-oriented policing can have, and as a council member, I will advocate for policies that further enhance public safety while ensuring respect for all residents.

As the former commander of a regional American Legion, I have worked tirelessly to support our veterans and their families. I have championed programs that assist veterans in their transition back to civilian life, advocating for better healthcare, education, and job opportunities. This role has further cemented my commitment to service and our community.
